Welcome to Farm School OC!
Farm School OC is a one-of-a-kind experience for children ages 15 months through 12 years of age and meets at River Street Ranch in San Juan Capistrano, Tanaka Farms in Irvine, Hana Fields in Costa Mesa and Fox Point Farms in Encinitas.
Animals and farming are the heart of our programs.
Our goal at Farm School OC is to nurture empathy and compassion for animals, to model an appreciation for farming, sustainability, buying local, eating healthy and making the world a better place.
Farm School OC Caregiver & Me Program
This class is meant for our youngest farmers!
This program begins with a teacher-led circle time with farm-themed lessons, stories and music. Children and caregivers then engage in hands-on learning tables featuring sensory activities, nature inspired creative projects, play-based exploration, farm activities plus food tastings inspired by the farm. Enjoy all-day farm access allowing you to explore the farm for a full hands-on experience! Stop at the farmers market to stock up on fresh, local produce.

Farm To School Morning Program
Ages 8 to 12
This program features culinary explorations with locally sourced seasonal produce, in-depth discussions on animal behavior and habitats, hands-on science experiments, and plenty of time brushing, feeding, and caring for the animals.
Classes will rotate between engaging science experiments, hands-on cooking lessons featuring fresh, seasonal produce, and meaningful time on the farm. Students will have the opportunity to explore where their food comes from, learn about the animals and their habitats, and build confidence through hands-on care and connection with the farm’s animals.

Farm To School Morning Program
Ages 3 1/2 to 7
This program introduces our students to farm life, agriculture, and animal care, while also incorporating music and nature-inspired arts & crafts for an educational, creative & joyful experience! Children develop empathy and social skills through daily animal care. They also explore healthy eating by preparing and tasting farm-fresh foods & learning where their food comes from. For ages 3 1/2 to 7 and fully potty trained.

Seasonal Camps
On The Farm
Ages 4 to 8
Our Farm School OC camps offer an educational and unforgettable experience where children immerse themselves in the wonders of farm life. Each day is filled with hands-on activities, including caring for animals, learning about daily farm routines, and fostering compassion for all living things. Kids will get creative with nature-inspired projects, dig into gardening, and explore the great outdoors through exciting games and discovery. Plus, they’ll whip up delicious, healthy recipes using fresh ingredients. Our camps inspire curiosity, connection, and a love for nature.
Camps are for ages 4 to 8 and campers must be fully potty trained.
